Hi my name is Mary, and I love to teach/tutor. I have plenty of experience in tutoring the sciences to both high school and college level students.
I have my State approved teaching license for General Science, my master's degree in Chemistry, and my bachelor's degree is in Chemistry and Biology. I decided tutoring and advising are my favorite parts of teaching science, thus I am here to help!! I have tutored all through my college days and into graduate school. While in graduate school, I tutored biology/chemistry and I volunteered to tutor chemistry to students with learning disabilities. When I was working towards my teaching license I tutored high school and college level physics.
My love to teach/tutor translates into you getting someone who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure you truly understand the subject at hand. Tutoring/teaching involves helping the student understand the subject better as well as how to learn better. By helping you (the student) in all aspects of your learning you will do better both in this class AND beyond this class for many years to come.
I love to see the light bulb 'click on' when a student understands a concept or problem we are working. Since I am so very excited about science my students get excited (or at least will put up with learning :) about science; Excitement is infectious especially when I use student directed examples to explain concepts (you like food, here let me explain science in cooking terms).
Enjoy the subject!!
