My goal is to work myself out of the job of tutoring you in math and statistics. Just going through the mechanics of the calculations is not enough. I strive to explain concepts with clear, simple language; discuss real world examples relevant to you; and help you develop your own problem solving approach.
I am a biological research scientist with a passion for math and statistics. I have not just taken classes -- I used statistics and math every day in my job. My work included decision analysis, computer modeling of biological systems and spatial statistics besides designing and analyzing experiments.
I am tutoring because I am as passionate about learning as I am about math and statistics. Doing research is continual learning, plus I advised graduate students and I tutored economics while earning my doctorate. Also, like you, I am now a student, taking classes in advanced statistics, R, and data mining.
Statistics and math don't have to be so difficult. I think I can help you learn with my passion for these subjects and my experience both inside and outside a classroom.
