Hello,

I am a licensed teacher in elementary education who has vast classroom experience in Poudre School District. I grew up in Fort Collins, and enjoy most outdoor activities. I pride myself on being a fun and engaging teacher, where students of all abilities are supported and encouraged. Although I specialize in elementary eduction, I have experience teaching all age groups, and look forward to showing you how fun learning can truly be!

I graduated with a degree in English from Whitman College, and obtained my teaching license from the University of Northern Colorado. I am passionate about teaching kids and helping them succeed.

Phonics

I have taught various reading programs for elementary students--these programs included methods for learning and reinforcing phonics acquisition. Phonics programs/curriculums I have taught include 'Read-Well' and 'Treasures,' which Poudre School District currently uses. This curriculum incorporates phonics instruction through the use of flash cards and phonetic strategies, among other things.

Baseball

I played in high school and college. I have coached little league teams in the past as well.

New Items each lesson — Damien does a great job of "mixing" up the lessons. They work on some of the same things but usually adds in a new game or way to look at his assignments. This helps to keep a 6 year olds attention for the full hour.
