Throughout all of my tutoring experience I strove to afford the best learning possible to my students, not by throwing gobs of data and words at them (or erasers), but by keeping a positive attitude and utilizing various learning methods. Although I don't have a Masters in Education, I do have a passion to help people learn something new, and I have a passion for the subjects I teach. I double majored in Spanish Literature and Language and Graphic Design at Colorado State University and took opportunities to act as a T.A. on several occasions. I was also a tutor for English Composition and Grammar as well as for Spanish as years went on. I was also lucky enough to be asked to proofread a number of Graduate Level papers, and offer points on improvement for clarity and diction choices. I incorporate humor and anecdotes as much as possible to help make a true and lasting bond with my students, and in the process impart my knowledge to them.
At the end of the session I like to assign some informal homework that might include anything from a quick vocabulary review, to hands-on application. I encourage my students to get involved in clubs or after-school activities related to their studies for it is by immersing ourselves in the culture of our studies, we can learn with greater speed and efficiency. On a closing note, we learn when we feel comfortable with our teachers, and I pledge to be a great guide to my students in any of the subjects I teach.
