I received my Bachelor's Degree from Colorado State University in Microbiology in 2005. I have been working in the field of Veterinary Medicine for 13 years with varying responsibilities to include managing and balancing a $1.5M budget, training new staff as well as teaching veterinary and veterinary technician students.
I have worked with students both younger and older than I am. Every student has unique needs and different ways of understanding a diverse range of topics. I feel that the best way to teach a subject is to find out by what means a student learns most effectively and cater to that mindset.
I currently work in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital working with students one on one and have worked in a teaching capacity for 5 years. I strive to act as a mentor to both facilitate learning while building confidence so that my students know they can succeed. My goal is to promote a thorough understanding of the topics at hand because I feel that with a more advanced knowledge of the subject material, it is easier to apply those concepts in a broad fashion.
