My name is Mark and I've been living in Colorado for about fifteen years now, although I grew up near Portland Oregon in a city called Beaverton. I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder and my Masters in Counseling Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. I've been operating my own private Counseling practice since 2006 and have specialized in the treatment of anxiety disorders and depression. On the lighter side, I'm also an accomplished singer/songwriter and a published poet. I perform weekly as a soloist or in a duet with my cousin and had the opportunity to open for Jefferson Starship a couple of years ago, an experience I'll never forget. I love to write both prose as well as more freestyle types of creative pieces and have a number of them published on-line on such topics as: the Benefits of Music Therapy to Depression and Anxiety, the Power of Inspiration in composition and many others.
I have considerable teaching and tutoring experience as well and have worked with many students of all ages in a number of areas including Guitar, Voice and Performance, English and composition, World Literature, Psychology, and algebra amongst other topics. I enjoy reading great literature, working out, riding mountain bikes, running, hiking and love to share the joy and beauty of that with others.
