Learning to read, write, and creatively express ideas, a student needs to know the foundations of the English language. As a graduate of Colorado State University with an English major, I have these skills as well as the ability to aide with research papers, editing creative writing assignments, an extensive knowledge of poetry and theater, and have many speed-reading techniques that would aide a struggling student with too much reading, not enough time, and a hard time retaining information. As well as skills in areas surrounding reading and writing, I obtained a minor in entomology and can also aide in editing scientific research papers as well as help a student learn to collect insects and other arthropods and also to identify and enrich the knowledge of a student on these wonderful creatures. As a past Model UN officer and conference organizer, I also have a lot of experience in international and policy issues including how to research the policies of foreign governments, speech-writing, and editing papers pertaining to other countries, humanitarian issues, and general history overviews. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, and I find it's best to communicate with the student about what problems they are encountering before I design a tutoring program for that student. All individuals have different learning styles and I believe tutoring styles should cater to a student's learning style.
