Hi, I am Nellie, a doctoral student seeking interested students in the science, math, and Spanish fields. I graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon in 2008, and in May 2010 received my Master's in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State.

In addition to being a Graduate Assistant at CSU, I tutored undergraduates at Linfield in subjects ranging from biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and other human performance subjects. With an MS in Exercise Science, as well as a B.S in Exercise Science and a chemistry minor, I have spent many classroom hours in the basic sciences, and feel confident tutoring a wide variety of science-based courses. My efforts were rewarded in 2007 when Linfield awarded me the Outstanding Tutor Award, due to the large influence I made with my students, and the nearly perfect passing rate of my clients.

Biology

I have extensive experience with all levels of biology- basic introduction to biology, cell biology, genetics of biology, and pretty much everything in between. As a cell biologist myself, not only a I up to date on this material, but I use it on a daily basis in the lab. I've also tutored these courses at two institutions- Linfield College and CSU, making my expertise even greater. Please contact me for more information on biology tutoring!

Chemistry

I have extensive experience tutoring general chemistry, both at my undergraduate institution and at CSU. Cumulatively, I have over 4.5 years of general chemistry tutoring experience, and a high success rate of students who pass. In addition to tutoring the course, I am also very familiar with the laboratory course.

Biochemistry

Biochemistry is hard. Let me help! As an undergraduate, I aced this course, including the laboratory. Now, as a PhD student in a biochemistry lab, I utilize much of this knowledge in my day-to-day activities. Let me help you master what is a challenging, yet extremely interesting course.

Physiology

This is my favorite course to tutor. Not only am I pursuing my PhD in a human physiology field, but I immensely enjoy helping students with this class. I have experience at 2 institutions tutoring this class, as well as the recitation and laboratory, and over 5 years experience tutoring this particular subject.

Nutrition

I have taken various courses in nutrition throughout both my undergraduate and graduate career. I am comfortable tutoring in basic entry-level nutritional sciences, as well as more advanced biochemistry-based nutrition courses, and have experience within both of these subjects.
