Approved subjects are in bold.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken many public speaking courses at the University of Washington. I also was on the debate team at Columbia Basic College, participating and winning awards in both debate competitions, as well as speech events. I have tutored many students throughout my University career who began afraid to speak in pubic and went on to become speech and debate professionals.
I am a Master's Student in the Russian Political Studies program at the University of Washington. I have taken 4 years of Russian language and lived in St Petersburg for 4 months. I have tutored many 1st and 2nd year university students in Russian and have many Russian resources to help students understand this complex, yet beautiful language.
