I am a Masters student through the University of Washington REECAS program. I am fluent in Russian. I have taken 4 years of Russian as well as lived in St Petersburg, RU for 6 months. I also can speak French and Hebrew. I have a Bachelor's degree in International studies. I have tutored many times in the past, ranging from Russian, English and English as a second language ( In Russia), and several other subjects. I usually tutor by first determining the students abilities in the subject so far. I then will write up a study plan for the student, that can involve work book or other resources along with one on one conversation to ensure the student understands what was learned. I also, depending on the subject may have the student work on the subject outside the set aside tutor time, and will check the work the next time we meet.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I have taken many public speaking courses at the University of Washington. I also was on the debate team at Columbia Basic College, participating and winning awards in both debate competitions, as well as speech events. I have tutored many students throughout my University career who began afraid to speak in pubic and went on to become speech and debate professionals.

Russian

I am a Master's Student in the Russian Political Studies program at the University of Washington. I have taken 4 years of Russian language and lived in St Petersburg for 4 months. I have tutored many 1st and 2nd year university students in Russian and have many Russian resources to help students understand this complex, yet beautiful language.
