Eclectic and engaging, I have been involved in education on both sides of the desk nearly all of my life. With three Masters degrees and a PhD, my education encompasses many areas.
I have taught a broad spectrum of topics (English, composition, religion, ethics, philosophy, technical studies, biblical studies, swimming) in many settings, both abroad and in the U.S. Most recently, I taught at the USAF Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, CO and have taught at colleges as well.
I strive to find innovative ways of presenting material in ways that are tailored to students. Having raised two children, I have experience with working to get kids through school. My main approach is to cultivate understanding rather than simple rote memorization.
Although most of my education has focused on "soft" studies, I have strong skills in mathematics and scored 750/800 points on my last GRE.
I have also spent many years as a chaplain, so being able to listen and cultivate relationships is second nature to me.
I am looking forward to transforming "I don't understand" to "Now I get it!"
