I have more than 15 years of teaching experience at both college and high school level in the areas of languages, math, logic, and computer science. In addition, I have extensive experience with non-traditional learners from both sides of the learning spectrum (IQs in the 40s and 140s) and appreciate the challenges for both learners and instructors.

I always observe the students and listen to them attempting a problem or a task before making recommendations and/or assisting them. I also do not simply give out answers but help students develop their own problem-solving skills in a given area. I do believe in repetition and practice. Mistakes are just learning opportunities.

I am fluent in both Russian and English and will be able to assist students teaching subjects in either of these languages.

My Ph.D. is in the areas of computer science and linguistics with concentration on natural language processing and information retrieval. I also have a minor in logic and concentration on formal semantics and phonology.

I have a Master's degree in bioinformatics with coursework in genetics and molecular biology.

I have taught Microsoft Office suite as a component of an Introduction to Computing class.

I have taught Russian at both university and high school levels and also have extensive tutoring experience in it.
