Hi, I have a psychology degree and a teaching certificate in elementary education. I have also completed 1 year of a social work graduate degree. I raised two children; one of which was a very right- brained, whole picture learner, so I know how to engage children and make learning fun. Who wants to spend a lot of time on painful, boring anything? I've been tutoring for the past 3 years, both in the public system and volunteer sector. Through the Bridge Project in Denver, I tutored and mentored a 17 year old boy who was ready to drop out of East High School, and now is in college with a full scholarship! Talk about rewarding! I've also tutored 6-8 year olds at a public elementary school for the past 3 years. The older kids are super interesting and the little ones are really sweet. I enjoy them all.

Elementary Math

I am a very visual, hands on teacher; especially when I am teaching math. My son is a right brained visual learner so I am very familiar with how these types of children learn. I tend to be able to teach to both right and left brained learners, so I have a lot of flexibility in my teaching style. Making learning fun always seems to help a lot.

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology, and also a BA in Elementary Education. I have one year toward a Social Work Masters degree from the University of Michigan as well.
