My favorite professors in college were those with the background to apply lessons to real-life experiences. After graduate school, I went to work as an auditor for a Big 4 accounting firm. My teaching approach is to help students master the technical aspects of the lesson and also understand its real-world applications.
I graduated with distinction with a double major in Accounting/Business Administration and a minor in Economics. I also hold a MBA, am a licensed CPA, an award-winning business plan writer, and have passed other technical accounting examinations (Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Internal Auditor).
Teaching Specialties: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Audit, CPA Prep, Finance Principles
My passion for helping those who struggle with accounting started in graduate school. Most of my classmates in the MBA program had a limited accounting background. Helping my peers through the required managerial and financial accounting courses was a truly rewarding experience. In the professional settings, I mentored, coached, and led trainings for interns and first year associates while working as an audit senior.
I have a flexible schedule but require that students respect my time. I have a quiet place to meet in the Highlands but am happy to travel if more convenient for the student.
Whether you are trying to get through one test or are cramming for the CPA exam, I look forward to meeting with you and helping you find success in accounting!
