I am a licensed 7-12 English teacher in Colorado and love what I do. I earned my B.A in English and Secondary Education at Colorado Christian University and also minored in Outdoor Leadership. Currently, I teach English at a high school in Littleton Public Schools.I have also tutored and/or taught for the past six years in Jefferson County and private schools. In the past couple years in the classroom, I have taught classes with ESL and Special Education middle school students to gifted high school students. In each classroom experience, I have enjoyed learning about my students as people and learners in order to tailor my lessons according to how that student learns and is motivated. What I love about tutoring is the chance to focus on a small number of students at a time and help them develop their skills. Not only do I teach secondary students, but I have worked as a Writing Lab tutor for Undergraduate and Graduate students for over three years.
With my experience, I specialize in helping students develop their reading, writing, and grammar skills. I have taught and will teach both children and adults. Regardless of what we are learning, I can diagnose reading, writing, and communicating issues through formal and informal assessments. Ultimately, I have enjoyed learning (especially Language Arts) and want others to as well. By creating lessons that are specific to your learning styles, target areas, and interests, I hope to make our tutoring sessions not only productive, but fun.
