I believe everyone has the potential to speak and write in any language expressively, beautifully, and concisely. I love both English and Spanish and I love helping others find their voice. I lived in Ecuador for 2 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer and learned real, on the ground, native-level Spanish, and I can help you learn to speak, read, and write - and pass your Spanish class! I have been passionate about writing of all kinds since I was very young. As a student in the Creative Writing major at the Denver School of the Arts, I worked day and night to become my best poet and fiction writer. I competed in and won poetry slams at Denver's Mercury Cafe and at the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in New York. As an undergraduate literature major at Barnard College, Columbia University, I honed my analytical writing and reading skills and graduated summa cum laude, while helping other undergraduates proofread and publish their own papers. And then I went to the jungle! My Peace Corps service in Ecuador gave me near-native level Spanish speaking, reading, and writing skills that I love to share with others eager to learn this most important language. I tutored many Ecuadorians in English skills as well, and would love to help anyone looking to improve their ESL level. I am fun, funny, and nonjudgmental! I will motivate you to do your best, and inspire you to use your words, in whatever language, to be your best. I look forward to meeting you!
