I graduated from Northwestern University with Honors in economics, magna cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa. I have five years of experience tutoring students ranging from ages 10 to 22, in subjects including economics, reading, English, math, history, and science. In particular, I tutored Northwestern University students in economics courses of all levels. I know economics material extremely well and would be able to especially help introductory Econ students, AP Econ students, and college level Econ students.
I have also tutored AB/BC Calculus (and personally received a 5 on the AP exam), reading (for elementary and middle school students), math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, elementary math, and college level calculus/ algebra), science, and writing. Thus, I am very experienced in a wide range of subjects.
In terms of my style of tutoring, I recognize that each student has different expectations for a tutor: some students would like a tutor that walks them through the material and teaches it step by step, while other students look for tutors to answer specific questions. Either way, I ask that the student (and parents) communicate their expectations and provide me with the relevant materials, i.e. syllabus and notes. I always prepare before the session to make sure I am up to date on the materials and know where the student is in class.
