As a successful student-athlete at both the high school and collegiate levels, I have learned a breadth of tips and tricks when it comes to time management and prioritization. In a tutoring capacity, I have mentored high school students as a part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute summer research program through Lewis and Clark College. In this program I was responsible for both increasing the high school student's knowledge of the scientific subject matter that they would be studying in their research and for teaching them how to be critical thinkers. This ability to think critically is something I strive to bring out in all my students regardless of subject matter. Other relevant experience that I have is teaching after school science enrichment programs to K-4th grade students in the Denver area. It is my passion to make my students excited about not only science but whatever subject material they may be interested in pursuing.
Additionally, I have extensive experience working as a coach and mentor. I have coached both Nike skills swim camps, Nike skills volleyball camps and competitive volleyball teams. I am currently coaching volleyball at the club level and have assisted at the collegiate level. I have coached a wide range of age groups from 9-17 and have had success in improving both physical skill and mental discipline in my athletes. This past summer I also worked as a personal trainer for a collegiate soccer player, helping her achieve her goals of making the collegiate squad for this fall semester and also her goals of running a sub 7 minute mile.
Helping students and athletes achieve their goals in and out of the classroom is an area that I am highly passionate about. So whether you are looking for an academic tutor or an athletic coach I hope you will consider me as a potential option.
