I am a graduate of CU-Boulder with a B.A. in English Literature, Mexican American studies, and history. I also received my M.A. there in English literature. I am trained in writing, rhetoric, and composition tutoring and utilized those skill in the Writing Center at CU. I provided one-on-one tutoring to any student regardless of their chosen field. I am also trained in Literature pedagogy, meaning I have a developed and practicing methodology for teaching literature. I am currently a teaching assistant for an American Literature course. I can tutor writing in any subject and at any level. I have experience in gauging and addressing a student's writing insecurities and aiding in the development of their writing skills. Although I am primarily interested in larger issues of organization and idea development, I am well versed in working with sentence level and grammatical issues. I can work with students at any grade level.
I am an Americanist by training and interest (focused in American Literature), but I am well versed in the Epic and greek tragedy. I also have a background in world and ethnic literature. During my time away from my graduate work, I worked as a literacy teacher for a Denver Public School. I worked with students that were not reading at grade level and guided them through a program that strengthened their reading skills.
I'm creative, passionate, dependable, and PATIENT. I believe that there is a writer in all of us
