Teaching children is truly a dream come true for me. I attended the University of Iowa and graduated with a BA in English. After a few years in the “real world” I decided my heart was in education and I knew it was time to go back to school and make my dream a reality. I enrolled in Metropolitan State College of Denver’s teacher licensure program in the fall of 2008. While working towards completion of the program, I was fortunate enough to actively participate in various DPS classrooms. My experience with students, ranging from kindergarteners to sixth graders, gave me the tools I needed to create my own successful classroom. I consider myself a life-long learner and continue to to grow and learn how to be a more effective teacher each year. I have been trained in several intervention strategies and will be working as a reading intervention teacher this coming school year. I love to work with students who are needing additional assistance. Watching a student grow and have the "ah ha" moment is what I strive for!
