I am a graduate of Princeton University where I studied Sociology and received honors recognition for Senior Thesis work in the field. I then taught middle school math and science in New Orleans, LA with the Recovery School District and Teach for America. During my time teaching in New Orleans, I instructed over 240 fifth through eight grade students in arithmetic, geometry, statistics, pre-algebra and general science, while witnessing class averages of 20% and 26% growth in standardized testing results my first and second year, respectively. I also mentored and counseled over 50 middle school minority males in personal and social development. I also coached a middle school football team of over 20 students to a 5-1 regular season record. I am currently working at the state capitol on policy issues and will be going to Law school in the fall.
