After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in literature, I taught high school English and elementary education for several years before earning a J.D. from Northwestern University. In my years as an elementary instructor, my students achieved 100% pass rates in reading and writing on state exams, despite being second-language learners from low-income homes. I have experience working with ESL students and children with special needs (including ADD and slow learners).
As both an elementary and high school teacher, I held daily after-school tutoring sessions for struggling students. I am able to vary my teaching approach to appeal to different types of learners, but I would describe my typical teaching style as creative and fastidious.
I am happy to provide additional information about my experience or tutoring methods on request.
