I am a recent graduate of James Cook University where I received my Masters of Science in Tropical Ecology & Conservation. I completed my undergrad in Biological Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Being a scientist has taken me to exotic parts of the world, working on research with Koalas, reef sharks, ants, birds and reptiles. My background offers an exciting and motivating outlook for those that find science and math a bit daunting. Although my degrees are not in math, I've always had a passion for the subject (minus Calculus) and consider myself proficient in a range of disciplines. Musically, I've played percussion my entire life, from Symphonic bands, to garage bands, and marching bands. For those that want to learn or better hone their skills, I am well versed in many styles and can offer musical theory to back up funky beats.
My teaching style is a bit unorthodox at times with emphasis on mnemonic devices to help students remember complex facts and figures. These simple associations, along with practical outlooks help students extinguish "What do we need this for?" logic and help to apply these theories in everyday life. I look forward to meeting you and passing on my extensive knowledge.
