I am moving back to Pittsburgh, PA in June of 2013 for my masters degree in bio engineering and am looking for students in the Pittsburgh area that need to catch up or prepare during the summer (and through the school year) in Math and Science.
I currently have extensive experience tutoring Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Chemistry and Biology. I currently tutor several students in the Denver, CO area, both high school and college and have helped all of them not only get better grades, but understand and appreciate math and science. I also tutor college students. I've helped several nursing students with their basic sciences and math.
Some background on me. I have a bachelors of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. I've studied Psychology and Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry and a certificate in the History and Philosophy of Science.
I truly love teaching. I believe that ALL students have the potential to learn. I want my students to only understand the material, I want them to be excited about it. The way that I start out tutoring is, I find the best way for them to learn. It's important I understand their best skills, highlight that and use it as a way for them to understand all the material.
Math and Science are two very difficult subjects and it is daunting at first, but I like to break down the information into smaller segments that students can understand and show them the bigger picture.
