Art History

I have a MFA in Painting/Drawing and a BA in Fine Arts, and have taught both studio art and different aspects of art history for several years, at both the college level and at the secondary school level.

I strive for an excellent balance between the practical, studio side of art and the historical, cultural, theory side.

Plus, I am fun and interesting and engaging and respectful!

Italian

I have lived in Italy on and off for over 10 years and am a completely fluent speaker (as my second language). I have a wide range of experience in the Italian language and culture, gained from living in different areas of the country and engaging in many work and social settings, and I am passionate about sharing those things. I have experience teaching both adults and children in the fine and fun points of the Italian language, and am enthusiastic about people understanding all aspects of the Italian experience and becoming excited about it. Ecco, andiamo!!

Painting

I possess a Masters Degree in Painting and Drawing (Bowling Green State University), and a BA in Fine Arts (Amherst College, summa cum laude) with a concentration & BA studio thesis in Painting.

I have taught oil & acrylic painting, and all sorts of related general painting/drawing subjects, at levels ranging from university & graduate programs down to secondary school, for the last 12 years.

Proofreading

I'm a generally smart, literary, educated guy and have lots of experience editing and proofreading for both myself and others.

I'm good at it, without being a total academic stickler! If you want something thorough, fun, respectful and engaging, I'd love to help.
