I graduated in December 2010 from Colorado State, double majoring in Graphic design and Marketing. Since then, I have worked as a leadership associate, where my responsibilities included maintaining the company website and social media presence. I now work as a Front-End web developer and graphic designer for a cleaning supply company. For the last four years, I have also done freelance web and print design.

I have a strong eye for design, and I have strong competencies in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery to construct my design within web standards. I also have been learning quite a bit about Drupal and WordPress.

HTML

I have been practicing HTML W3C standards both as a freelancer and as a hired employee. I understand how to use the new HTML5 tags to improve both existing and new sites. I'm also very proficient in CSS and I develop sites that separate structure from appearance.

Adobe Photoshop

I use Photoshop on a near daily basis. In my part time job as a designer and web developer, I use Photoshop to correct image color, add design elements, and optimize images for the web. I also practice product photography, which requires extensive use of Photoshop to make our products look better than our competitors.

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator has been my tool of choice for developing vector based art. I lean towards using Illustrator whenever photographs are not used in my artwork. I have a strong proficiency in the program, which I developed through college courses, books, and tutorial sites alike. Shortcuts are another strength. I can teach techniques to increase your speed with the program and improve your artwork.

Web Design

My specialty is in web design and front-end development. I learned a great deal about design theory and designing for business in college. I have used training and tutorial sites to develop my HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery skills.
