Learning Music Theory is a great way to prepare for collage level music. Anyone interested in either singing or instrumental music can advance quickly with a thorough understanding of music theory. The method I teach is the "Wallace" method which I learned in first year music theory class in high school. It prepared me so well for college music theory, I felt I knew the subject thoroughly.
I started studying music in grade school and continued my studies through college. I majored in music education and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor in Music Education. My major instrument was and still is trumpet. I also learned and play the electric bass, flute and keyboards. One of my favorite classes was music theory. I received a certificate for teaching K thru 12. I worked as a substitute teacher for 2 years.
I am currently playing in 2 different community bands in the Denver, Colorado area. I am the director of the John Philip Sousa band of Colorado and I play cornet in the Rocky Mountain Brassworks. One of my biggest joys in life is playing music. It is a legacy that was passed to me and through tutoring, I would love to pass this legacy to the next generation.
