Hi, thank you for looking at my profile!
I am a language professional in Denver area. I provide translation and interpretation services and training as well as Russian and English language lessons.
Being a language learner myself throughout life I understand the fears and difficulties learning a language comes with. I am now taking language classes myself and I always compare my teaching methods with those of my teachers. So far, I haven't found a miraculously fast way to learn a language. You have to be patient and open to learn. There is no single method that is so much better than others. There pluses to methods like Rosetta Stone that don't teach grammar in a traditional way, but there are also pluses to simple verb drills.
The best teacher, in my opinion, keeps them all and keeps their students interested and entertained by changing them regularly and by keeping the lesson close to the real world. That helps the student use the knowledge gained at the lesson as soon as possible.
Ultimately, the student may be the one who want to be in charge and knows exactly what they want to learn and how they want to do it - I respect that too.
I have experience formally teaching adults and young people starting from 10 years of age up to 82 years of age. I also have my own children now, whom I have been teaching Russian since birth. On and off I have been providing tutoring services for about 15 years.
