I am a recent graduate of the University of New Mexico where I received my Master of Music in Theory and Composition, emphasis in composition, with a cumulative GPA of 3.89. My thesis was a ten minute piece for solo violin and full orchestra. During my time at the University, I had a few of my pieces performed at composer's concerts and received many positive reviews. I also played many budding composer's pieces in concerts and class presentations. I attended Bryn Mawr College for my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in music and graduated magna cum laude. At Bryn Mawr, I was an active participant in the Bi-College Orchestra, chamber music groups, as well as playing at the convocation of the new Haverford President and as part of the music accompaniment to the play, The Last Five Years.
I have had previous tutoring experience in both violin and music theory and am excited to expand to other musical subjects. I love all aspects of music and am always excited to share my knowledge with others. In my tutoring sessions, I like to work with each student to find their strengths and weaknesses, how each student learns best, and am flexible with not only working on what each student needs assistance in but what they want to learn more about. If one manner of learning does not work, we can easily work on figuring out another way of approaching the subject manner.
Music is sometimes not the easiest but it is one of the most rewarding and fun things a person can learn.
