First and foremost, I am a student of life. I crave challenges and stimulation while also enjoying everything that I have. Learning and personal growth is of up most importance to me and I thrive best when I have an opportunity to do so every day. In a work environment I am looking for a positive, energetic atmosphere where I can explore and grow. I work best when I am in a position of communication and responsibility. I enjoy people; I have enthusiasm for their stories and patience to listen to their issues. I am an ambitious big-picture thinker but think that it’s the details that make every day and everything a little more special (or a little more efficient). I enjoy work and have found laziness to not only be boring but a drain on my potentials. I am most relaxed and happy when I know I am dedicating myself to a job and accomplishing something by the end of every day.
I have worked as a teacher for many years now. Not only do I find teaching to be wholly refreshing in a world of negativity, but kids are fun. And so, in my teaching style, I have found that it is most efficient to approach kids of all ages with a laid-back 'big sister' attitude that allows them to be themselves while learning. I also find it imperative to constantly adapt and find creative ways to reach every child. Every person is different, and it is my job as a teacher to adapt and try never-ending new approaches until I can find the one that communicates to that kid best.
Here are my specialties -
Composition Writing: Essays can be hard. Sometimes we all need a little bit of help. I know every essay type and the MLA format. But, most importantly, I can help the writer find the most efficient way to explore, organize and translate their thoughts onto paper, as well as techniques to help them do this efficiently and without stress.
Creative Writing: What do you really want to say? Like essay writing, creative writing is all about translating your thoughts to the page. I can help find the most efficient and fun ways to do this.
Theatre: I am currently studying theatre at UCDenver. In my years of experience, i have found that theatre can benefit everyone in the most remarkable ways. Through theatre games and exercises, I specifically gear kids towards self-confidence, self-awareness, social consciousness, and acceptance. Theatre is a fun way to explore your own psychology and that of the world around you.
Literature: I love to read! And literature is a passion that will allow me to help with explore, understanding and discovering depth in everything from Shakespeare to Hawthorne to Pratchett.
If you have questions about anything else I may be able to help with, please feel free to ask! I hope to here from you soon.
