There is no such thing as "I can't do the work." I believe most of the time this phrase really means, "I don't UNDERSTAND the work." It is my job as a teacher and tutor to help that student understand the work, so they can do the work.

I love teaching, I love children. I work at a private center assisting in the Pre-K classroom during the morning and then teaching the school-age classroom (K-6th grade). On average I have about 8-15 kids in my class from all grades. And I tutor them all after school. I also teach 4th-5th grade Sunday school class at my church. Children are my passion and my goal is to never see one of my children fail.

Reading

I believe there are two parts of being proficient in reading: the first is being able to read the words on the page (phonics and fluency) and the second part is reading comprehension (how much is the student understanding).

Writing

From basic noun-verb sentence structure to MLA/APA formatting can be considered writing. Teaching a kindergartener/first grader how to write a sentence on their own to helping a high schooler format a research paper, I understand and am able to teach.

Geography

I have a "my first atlas" as well as a student's atlas for any of my students to use as additional resources. I consider geography not just where the physical location of a certain place is, but also the cultural aspect of the peoples that live there. Also, to a certain extent history plays an important role in the current situation of a country or area.
