I'm a certified mathematics teacher in my tenth year of teaching. I'm certified to teach math grades 5 through 12. I taught a graduate level methods course for elementary teachers at Michigan State University. I left that job to become a math coach in a small district on the eastern plains of Colorado. As a math coach, I helped middle and high school math teachers reflect on and improve their practice. I returned to the classroom because I missed working with students. Currently, I teach 8th grade mathematics during the school year and a high school credit recovery class during the summers. I tutor in my free time because I'm passionate about education and enjoy helping people reach their goals.
Services I provide during the school year include private, one-on-one sessions; support with homework, test prep, and note-taking; pre-assessments upon request to identify areas of weakness and guide instruction; and supplemental material for reform curriculum such as CMIC and CMP.
I hold my sessions at a local library and coffee shop in Westminster.
