My status as a senior at the University of Colorado qualifies me to be a tutor. Obtaining a BS in cellular and molecular biology with a minor in biochemistry connects me to academia and provides thorough knowledge of these subjects.
I tutor chemistry, biology, and English. Evaluating mistakes, assisting with problems, giving exercise practice and preparing for exams detail my tutoring plan. I can enable students to understand concepts, but I believe the persuasion of new knowledge away from the pressure and anxiety from school is what really excites students. Being alongside the student allows me the chance deconstruct any pressures the student may be handling scholastically. This allows students a chance to ask every and any questions while receiving undivided help with the work-problem. The moment when my explanations truly resonate with a student is always noteworthy, and it is why I tutor. Comprehension will increase and soon the student is performing proficiently.
In all cases, I expect the student to derive answers from their own logic. My job is not to give answers. This is balanced by my instruction and input to direct the student to the answer. My success as a tutor is defined by the student's level of comprehension and progress. My effectiveness at reaching the student is why others have found my assistance helpful.
While I am tutoring, I am also evaluating my student's learning motif. Being clued into how the student conceptualizes material helps me to tailor my lessons as needed. I do believe this niche separates me from other tutors. My connection with the student, I find, is where their teachers have failed and is where I can succeed.
The fact that I also tutor English should not be taken as any lack of scientific credibility nor should my English tutoring be misjudged as a scientist. Why I do both can be best explained by my story as a student: a story of how a writer become a biochemist. This story is my gift to my students, and it has always been received well by students.
I look forward to your responses.

I am qualified through course work in general biology, which included plant physiology, spectral theory and experimentation, and energy conversion. Also qualified through experience as a partial owner of a commercial greenhouse and avid home gardener.
I am qualified for this subject because of my coursework at the University of Colorado. I have completed general chemistry I & II with labs, Organic chemistry I & II with labs, Biochemistry I & II with labs, and biophysical chemistry. These upper-level chemistry courses require much aptitude and effort to pass, and the study-skills I obtained from completing the coursework can be relayed to the student. Furthermore, my section for Organic Chemistry scored higher on the standardized ACS final than any section in the University's history.
As a high school student, I received a perfect score on the ACT and SAT English, Writing and Rhetoric sections. I received the highest grade in my entire school on the Colorado Writing Assessment. I was a published poet by age 10 and am currently involved with a publication.
