I strive to make learning fun and productive. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring math and science, especially elementary and middle school students. I have many hands-on math activities, worksheets and math games to help students learn concepts and then improve their speed. I can provide many hands-on activities to understand physical science concepts, then teach students how to accomplish the accompanying math problems.
I am certified to teach both math and science in 7th - 12th grades. The sciences I have taught include earth science, physical science, chemistry and physics. The math classes I have taught include all middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra and geometry. I have coached for the Science Olympiad, Science Fair and the middle school math competition, MathCounts, and have had several students qualify for state level. I have also had the enjoyment of providing math tutoring and math enrichment at a local elementary school for several years.
I look forward to helping students in expanding their understanding of math and/or science.
I have taught and tutored math, algebra and geometry for over 20 years. I have tutored a student for the math portion of the ACT test. I like to help students pull together their skills to be able to practice for the test in order to have a mindset to be confident and competent when taking standardized tests.
I have taught and tutored physical science, chemistry and physics. The math involved in these sciences covers decimals, percents, exponents, solving equations, radicals, logs, and setting up and working problems that involve polynomials. I enjoy helping students learn and practice these topics in their Algebra 2 class and look forward to helping more students.

I have over 20 years of teaching and tutoring math and science. I also developed a volunteer math tutoring program at an elementary school, then coordinated it and was a tutor for the school for 4 years. I have coached for math and science competitions as well as for computerized trivia contests for several years. I was employed as a tutor by D11, for 4 years, for students who were homebound due to a medical issue or because they were suspended for the remainder of the semester. As a tutor for the homebound I tutored their math, science, English and history. I consider myself very capable to tutor for the GED test.
