I strive to make learning fun and productive. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring math
, especially elementary and middle school students. I have many hands-on math activities, worksheets and math games to help students learn concepts and then improve their speed. I can provide many hands-on activities to understand physical science
concepts, then teach students how to accomplish the accompanying math problems.
I have developed a large math website that is free to users. It has thousands of problems for students to practice hundreds of topics in elementary and middle school math, algebra
and into geometry
I am certified to teach both math and science in 7th - 12th grades. The sciences I have taught include earth science
, physical science, chemistry
. The math classes I have taught include all middle school math, pre-algebra
, algebra and geometry. I have coached for the Science Olympiad, Science Fair and the middle school math competition, MathCounts, and have had several students qualify for state level. I have also had the enjoyment of providing math tutoring and math enrichment at a local elementary school for several years.
I look forward to helping students in expanding their understanding of math and/or science.

Perimeter = 2L + 2W
x = Width
x + 10 = length
100 = 2(x) + 2(x + 10)
100 = 2x + 2x + 20
100 = 4x + 20
80 = 4x
4x = 80
Divide by 4
x = 20 = Width
x + 10 = 30 = Length
Hope it helps,...
The line will cross the x-axis when y = 0, so....
Use y = 0 in your equation,
6x + 2(0) = - 6
6x = - 6
x = - 1
So the x-intercept is (-1, 0).
The y-intercept will occur when x = 0, so substitute ...
6(0) + 2y = - 6
2y = -...
Carina, you can make a proportion, 300/12 = x/8,
then cross multiply to get 12x = 300 * 8
which simplifies to 12x = 2400
Divide by 12.
x = 200 miles
Hope this helps.
