My name is Sarah, I was born and raised in Germany to an American father and German mother. I'm fluent in both languages, and have studied at German- and English-speaking universities (University of Bonn, Germany, University of Galway, Ireland, and University of Edinburgh, Scotland). I'm a geologist/geochemist by trade, but I was fortunate to gain teaching experience during a European Teaching Scholarship, offered to me at the University of Edinburgh, and as a faculty member at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO, where I worked with undergraduate and graduate students. I hold a 3-year substitute teacher authorization (K-12) and Alternative Teacher Eligibility Statement with an endorsement in science (7-12) issued by the Colorado Department of Education. I have been a long-term substitute science teacher in District 2, and am now a K-12 substitute teacher in D2, D49, and D12. In addition to my academic experience, I have worked in the mining industry for 2.5 years, and have acted as a consultant to many science-based industries (oil/gas, renewable energy, mining,...).
Personal reasons brought me to Colorado Springs, and I can't state enough how much I love it here! My hobbies are cycling, running, walking/hiking with my dogs, and of course spending time with my husband and step-son.
I'm able and willing to tutor both German and science subjects, and am excited to share my knowledge with you or your child!
