I tutor high school students attending college courses, Olympic level athletes, veterans, active duty military, college aged students, adults, and even students with documented learning disabilities. I work as a certified, CRLA tutor at Pike's Peak Community College.
I earned a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Florida and am working towards a degree in Chemistry leading to a medical school application in 2013, matriculating in 2014. My educational background and diverse professional experience helps in wrapping up the “big picture” for my students.
I have experience tutoring elementary, middle and high school students as well; whether the student is looking for the added edge or is struggling with a specific subject or multiple subjects. I’m extremely patient and have been quite successful in my academics even with certain learning differences. I’m familiar and well versed in the various learning styles. What makes me such an efficient tutor is my style; I can adjust my tutoring method to the learning preference that is most beneficial to the student. Technology is apart of my session as well as extra, complimentary practice worksheets, videos, and timely responses to academic questions in-between sessions.
If your child experiences a / some “learning difference(s)” of their own, I’m certain we can devise and implement an effective tutoring strategy that’s personalized to their needs. I have tutored many students with ADD/ADHD, a learning difference I know too well.
Above all...I believe in helping students establish confidence in learning while nurturing the ability to become independent learners; my goal is to make it fun along the way. My first session is complementary and at this point, we will design a flexible but helpful strategy to get you or your student to where they want to be in their subject.
