Experienced Elementary Teacher with a Science Background

Hello!

For the past two years I taught at a public elementary school in Arizona. I am taking the year off to stay home with my new daughter. Here are a few of my qualifications:

* Experience tutoring in reading & math
* Spaulding (phonics program) Certified
* Zoo-phonics Trained
* I spent a summer in South Korea teaching youth English
* Team Leader at Laveen Elementary

I have been heavily trained in teaching reading to Elementary students. I have taken many classes that focus on teaching the five elements of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension). It is vital that all of those elements are taught.

In addition to my work with Elementary students, my bachelor's degree is in Human Physiology. I would feel very comfortable tutoring in anatomy or physiology as well.
