I have more than 30 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and writing in the United States and Italy. I spent more than eight years instructing at the university level in the areas of English as a Second Language, English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and freshman composition. I also owned and operated a private language school from 1988-1992 in Southern Italy. During my time in Italy, I logged hundreds of hours as a private tutor. My clients ranged from students with learning difficulties to physicians and other medical professionals. I am currently a government employee and have written more than 40 courses, including writing courses, for government employees. I strive, always, to make learning fun, interesting and relevant.

I have endless patience for language and writing students. I tailor each lesson to the individual student. I am very enthusiastic about language and writing, and I work diligently to pass this enthusiasm on to my students. I will spend a portion of our early lessons getting to know you and your interests. This will help me to teach you about language and writing using what most interests you!
