I have a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master's degree in

Mechanical Engineering. As a pre-engineering and engineering student, I took courses in a wide variety of

mathematics and

science including

algebra,

trigonometry,

geometry, calculus,

differential equations, linear analysis, numerical analysis, basic and advanced

physics. In later engineering courses, I used the mathematics and science in advanced engineering courses. I have been a working engineer for the past three decades, applying the

math and physics I learned as a student. I have also taught at levels from

fourth grade through college and have enjoyed the experience. I have helped many students achieve success.

I have found three primary obstacles to students' learning math and physics:

1. Motivation. Many students do not see any relationship between math and physics and their lives, now or in the future. I discuss with students how math can be used to describe, understand and control the world around them from their day to day activities and decisions to the world and cosmos we live in.

2. Lack of confidence. Students have been convinced that they are incapable of learning math. I show students that mathematical concepts are logical, coherent and can be understood and that tools can be applied simply to arrive at answers to problems.

3. Teaching methods. Most math and physics teaching consists of instructors lecturing by working problems before a class of students. In my experience, students can follow the steps the instructor takes to solve a problem but are left in the dark as to how the instructor knew, and the student is supposed to know, what steps to take to solve a problem. I help students learn how to think about math and problem solving and how to see, the steps leading to a problem solution.

MatlabTest taking anxiety is also a major problem with many students. I teach specific easy to understand steps which dramatically reduce or even eliminate this problem. Many of my students have achieved major improvement in grades simply by employing these steps for taking tests.

I enjoy working with motivated students; my students seem to enjoy my teaching approach and many benefit dramatically. I am able to explain complex concepts in simple terms that make them much more understandable than typical academic teaching methods do.

I can recommend high quality, inexpensive reference books and texts to support tutoring now which will become lifetime references for students as they progress in academia and career.

Rather than having a tutor answer all the questions on your homework, try this approach yourself:
When you have a problem that provides several parameters, radius, centripetal acceleration, tangential velocity, etc.
find an equation which ties several of these together...

centripetal acceleration is
a = v^2/R
rearranging we get
v = (a/R)^1/2
for the numbers you provided
v=(22/.35)^1/2
=7.93 m/sec
note: 35 cm = .35 mm all units must be consistent in any equation

the total distance the passenger moves during one rotation is 2πR (two times pi times the radius), the time to move this distance is P (the rotational period). the velocity is then 2πR/P.
