I have been tutoring math since I was in 10th grade. I have worked with every type of child from special education to gifted and talented. I have taught math, from 6th grade-pre-calc, at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch and Lotus School for Excellence in Aurora. I have also taught college Geology at Florida International University and Arapahoe Community College.

I have a background in Math, Geology, and computers.

Algebra 1

This is a required course for all high school students. Most freshman are enrolled in this class. It involves solving for variables, creating equations and graphing. I have taught this subject at two schools.

General Computer

I have used a computer for 30 years. I am very familiar with computer programs. I have even wrote a few program in C++. I am not comfortable tutoring programming, but if you have questions about office, LibreOffice, or the internet I'm sure I can help.

This is a required course for all high school students. Most 10th graders are enrolled in this class. It involves shapes, area, and volume. Many students find it to be a difficult topic since they have not yet developed the ability to visualize objects in 3D. I have been heavily involved in Church all my life. I have had a daily bible reading routine for 15 years now and I have read through the Bible 4 times. I have lead Sunday school for both children and Adults. I was in charge of my high school bible study, and I have lead evening Bible studies.

MATLAB

I used MATLAB for 4 years during my Masters program. Not only did I use it in many of my classes I also created a program in MATLAB that simulates fluid flow and another that simulates a pumping heart. I have taught others how to use MATLAB to create programs that are based on the Boltzmann equation.

Praxis

In Colorado the Praxis II secondary math test has the highest required score of all the states. I passed the Praxis on my first attempt. I can help you pass your test too.
