I've taught and tutored English for 4 years. I lived and taught English in the Czech Republic for two years. I also lived and taught English in China for 1 year. I hold a TEFL Certificate. I am passionate about the English language and teaching it to speakers of other languages. I like to use games and activities with children, so they have fun while learning and practicing English. I always choose games that use a lot of speaking and/or reading so the students get lots of practice using grammar and vocabulary. I've also created my own games and activities when I see a specific need in a student. I like to read books with children, also. For older students and adults, I talk to them and evaluate their needs and then plan lessons accordingly. We may do reading, speaking, or grammar lessons. I always make sure to review and practice with the students so that they continue to build on their language skills. I've taught all levels of English, from beginners to very advanced. I've taught all ages, however, I prefer students to be older than 5 years. Children under 6 years tend to be unwilling to speak for long periods of time in English if they are not used to speaking it consistently.
