Hi, I'm Maria, and I am very passionate about physics, astronomy and math. Whether you are having difficulties with physics or math, or just want to learn a bit more about your favorite physical science, I can help! I received my M.S. in Physics from Colorado State University in May, 2010. Currently I am a PhD candidate at CSU performing solar physics research at High Altitude Observatory, a part of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, in Boulder, CO. I also received a double B.S. in both Physics and Philosophy from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. I have 3 years of experience assisting undergraduates with Physics labs and homework, 2 years of experience teaching college level Astronomy labs, and I have been tutoring for WyzAnt for almost two years. I can tutor math from pre-algebra all the way through calculus III, and I can also tutor multiple levels of high school physics and physical science. Within physics, I can tutor undergraduate level physics courses including: college physics (algebra based), university physics (calculus based), quantum (using Griffiths), mechanics (using Taylor), electricity and magnetism (using Griffiths), astronomy, and math methods. Also, I am very familiar with the computer language IDL, and I am experienced with LaTex. Each student is unique and learns best in his or her own way. It is my goal as a tutor to understand what works best for each student, and to help each student excel to the best of his or her ability. Maybe we can work together soon!
Due to my large work load this semester, I am no longer accepting new students. Exceptions will be made for previous students and referrals.
