I'm Maria, and I am very passionate about physics, astronomy and math. Whether you are having difficulties with physics or math, or just want to learn a bit more about your favorite physical science, I can help! I am currently a Physics Ph.D. candidate at Colorado State University, and received my M.S. in Physics from CSU in May 2010. I also received a double B.S. in both Physics and Philosophy from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana in May 2008. My teaching experience includes 3 years of assisting undergraduates with Physics labs and homework, and 2 years of developing curriculum and teaching college level Introductory Astronomy labs. Additionally, I have over 7 years of tutoring experience, with the last 3 years solely through WyzAnt.
I am available to tutor math from pre-algebra all the way through calculus III, including multiple levels of high school and college physics. In addition, I have experience preparing high school students for their AP Calculus AB/BC and AP Physics B/C exams. Are you a high school student also in need of SAT/ACT preparation? I can help with that too! Within physics, I can tutor undergraduate level physics courses including: college physics (algebra based), university physics (calculus based), quantum (using Griffiths), mechanics (using Taylor), electricity and magnetism (using Griffiths), astronomy, and math methods. Also, I am very familiar with the computer language IDL, and I am experienced with LaTex.
Each student is unique and learns best in his or her own way. It is my goal as a tutor to understand what works best for each student, and to help each student excel to the best of his or her ability. Maybe we can work together soon!
I am no longer accepting new students due to my already full tutoring schedule. Exceptions may be made for past students or referrals. I will also be available all Thanksgiving week for students who need 'quick help', refreshers, or want to study for ACT/SAT.
