As a tutor, my goal is not only to help students with their specific, short-term needs, but also to cultivate within them an enduring desire to learn and grow. I am a firm believer that optimism and confidence are key components to success and that these qualities must be nurtured if the individual is to ever reach his or her potential.
I have a diverse educational background and a wide range of interests. As an undergraduate student at Tennessee Technological University, I studied a variety of subjects, but focused most of my time and energy into science. In May 2000, I received my Bachelor of Science in chemistry. Having minored in business, I decided to pursue graduate school opportunities; and two years later, in May 2002, I completed my Master of Business Administration. After a few years of working, I went back to school to study theology at Vanderbilt University. In 2007, I received my Master of Theological Studies. Since graduating and while working for the university, I have continued furthering my education, immersing myself mainly in the study of psychology, philosophy, and religious studies.
