As a 7th grade math teacher I understand that all students learn at different rates and some students need unconventional ways of getting math to stick. I believe in not only teaching the procedures of math, but also teaching the concepts behind why math works. I use a combination of hands-on approaches, skills practice, memorization, silly rhymes and songs, math investigation, and problem solving. I have a teaching license in both mathematics for grades 7-12 and elementary education. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a 4.0 grade point average and passed the Praxis in the top 15%. I was also nominated as departmental scholar by the School of Mathematical Sciences at UNC during my time as a student there.
I love math almost as much as I love tutoring!
