I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Colorado Medical School. I have my Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I also hold an Initial Principal License from the University of Colorado. I am a published author and have written a chilren's book and am currently writing my second book.

I have a Professional Teacher's License in Elementary Education in the State of Colorado. I have been in education for fourteen years and have worked as a contract Elementary Teacher for six years. I have been a reading and math interventionist, an ESL teacher, and have taught special education students.

I have been a teacher in after school tutoring situations and have been a tutor for licensed tutoring companies. I have also been the administrator for in school CSAP tutoring. I have scored CSAP tests in Longmont Colorado and have been licensed by WyZant in Psychology, and am currently a Drawing and Acrylic Painting Instructor.

I would like to help you with your class work or homework or concepts in an environment which is comfortable for you. I can help teach you with hands on techniques or more traditional techniques. If you are unable to understand a concept I am able to explain the concept in a variety of ways in order to help you understand what you are learning. I am here to help you. Reading

As a professional educator with two MA's in Education I am able to help many students in reading comprehension, as well as structuring paragraphs etc. I have written many professional papers which needed a high level of reading comprehension on the part of the professor. In both programs I received a 4.0 GPA.

Writing

I have been teaching elementary writing for fifteen years. I have been a classroom teacher, interventionist as well as an individual tutor. Schools and parents are pleased with my results and the gains of the student.

ESL/ESOL

I have had many ESL classes and workshops here in the US. I was taught how to teach ESL in California before we left for China. I taught ESL immersion classes in Kunming China at the Metallurgic College to teachers who were teaching English to middle school students.

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a current Colorado Professional Teacher's License in Elementary Education (k-6). I have taught elementary students for ten years and have been a Title I teacher as well as a Reading and Math interventionist for a large part of my teaching career.

I have taken many professional development classes in elementary reading and math and have taught many different types of curriculum which will facilitate my ability to teach to your specific needs.

Phonics

As an elementary teacher I have taught phonics, beginning with the ability to recognize a letter to a sound. It also incorporates blends suh as th, ba etc. Then the phonemic awareness turns into word recognition.

Study Skills

I have taught study skills to my elementary students and have had study skills classes in college. I have even tutored study skills to vet techs.

Bible Studies

I grew up in the Christian faith and my father was an historical biblical scholar, from whom I learned a great deal regarding the various interpretations of the bible, the geography and travels of Jesus as well as his disciples. Where Christianity began, how paganism played a role in Christianity as well as how the Lutheran's split from the Roman Catholic church. Drawing

I have been drawing since I was a child and I continue to draw. I have had a few drawing courses in college. I have recently become an Acrylic Certified Instructor with Grumbacher. I have been hired by Michael's to teach Acrylic drawing.

Painting

I have had oil painting classes and have been licensed as a Grumbacher acrylic teacher. I begin teaching at the Michael's store within the next month.

ADD/ADHD

As an elementary school professional teacher, k-12, I have taught ADD/ADHD students in the classroom and small group classes. I have taught ADD/ADHD students in the WyzAnt tutoring program and the parents have been pleased with the results. The classroom teachers have also praised me for my success for the increased attention and learning in the classroom. If the parents would like me to keep in contact with the primary classroom teacher, as I have in the past, I am pleased to do so.

Dyslexia

I have taught dyslexic students in grades k-6 and have been successful in their learning process. I have taught dyslexic students in my classroom as well as in a small group setting. I am patient with their progress and let the student set the pace for their learning.

Microbiology

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, and a large part of our training was microbiology. I have worked in a microbiology lab.
