I am a super fun woman and full-time professional tutor, who delights in teaching Spanish
! I have had great success helping students improve their grades by 1-3 letter grades. I have also assisted students in passing BVSD online courses with flying colors.
I create many of my own teaching materials, and so even students who have been struggling in the classroom find that my supplementary lessons and resources are exactly what they need to understand a challenging concept and get over their fears.
I am very creative, and I always seek ways to bring the language
alive whenever I am working with a language learner. For example, I enjoy using music
/lyrics to give students a fun way to experience the language in a natural context.
I have a B.A. in linguistics and Spanish from Middlebury College in VT.
As an undergrad, I studied Spanish linguistics at the local university in Montevideo, Uruguay, where I lived for a year. My time in Uruguay gives me a passion for South American culture, as well as a great deal of experience to provide cultural context for students learning the Spanish language.
I have several years of experience tutoring speaking, reading
in both Spanish and English
. I am also TESOL certified and have taught English to speakers of other languages both in the U.S., as well as abroad.
I have a knack for helping students feel comfortable and inspired. Whether you want to improve your grades in school, or learn Spanish for your job or upcoming trip, I look forward to getting to know you and working together.

What a great question! This is one of the biggest challenges for Spanish language learners. It is something that will come more naturally with time, as you experience more and more Spanish. Eventually, you will find that "it just sounds right."
