I am passionate about Spanish! Students will receive quality, reliable, patient and effective instruction with deep and personal attention to the student's needs. Methods of instruction will be thorough, fun and informative. Pronunciation, conversation, grammar, reading, writing and everyday language usage will be covered. Fun and valuable web links, recordings, and exercises will be offered to assist the student with self-study. First lesson is 1/2 price for your test drive!
Having been a Spanish major previously at the University of Utah for several years, I am currently in the process of completing my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish at the University of Colorado. I am 100 percent proficient at conversing and writing in Spanish, as well as in reading Spanish literature at the highest level. I have tutored students at the college level, high school level, and, I have taught my own son since he was very young. He is now a recent college graduate with high honors in International Relations and a straight "A" average in all of his Spanish classes, since middle school, thanks in large part to our learning sessions when he was a youngster. In addition, I was hired by colleagues at the University of Utah to accompany families to Mexico City, to be their translator.
As a tutor, I will be able to successfully help a student to learn better study methods, to understand complex grammatical concepts, to take the mystery out of correct pronunciation, and to improve exam preparation. Last but not least, my years of experience with mindfulness practice, both as a practitioner, as well as an instructor, will offer tremendous benefit to the student through my patient, understanding and thorough approach to tutoring. This experience will also offer the student the opportunity to learn an important intangible: the ability to experience confidence and focus in their effort to learn Spanish.
