I have a varied background and thus I teach a wide variety of subjects. I studied biology and English in college before earning a degree in English. I have been a test prep instructor for 12 years. I began teaching SAT classes in college for Kaplan. Over the years I added ACT, GRE, GMAT and TOEFL. In 2007, while living in New York City I earned my TESOL certificate from Global TESOL College to teach English overseas. From 2007 to 2010 I lived in Istanbul where I taught for Kaplan and a local language school.
While working as a teacher, I have also built something of a career as a freelance writer. As a traveler my work has been published in Time Out, Executive Travel and Fodors. I am also a technical writer with published work in the education, business and industrial fields.
My lessons draw upon many resources. That I teach so many different tests has made me something of an expert in standardized test prep. My experience as a writer and teacher helps me bring a variety of math and verbal concepts to life. My background as a lover of history, science and literature enables me to help students with some of the more obscure subject tests.
If you're looking for a tutor whose focus is firmly on helping you ace your all-import test, send me an email. I'm flexible and it's free to ask any question you want.
