I graduated May 2010 from the University of Colorado at Boulder and spent much of my time in school tutoring other students. I have experience tutoring mainly in Physics, but also in mathematics, and C type programming languages. I also tutor advanced physics, including most upper division courses, such as Classical Mechanics I and II, Electromagnetism I and II, and Quantum Mechanics I and II. I generally like to tutor by helping the student work problem sets, either given by the class in question or of my own design. I think that students learn best by doing. Emphasis is placed on understanding the problem and what the problem is trying to teach rather than memorization of the method.

Differential Equations

I took Differential Equations at University of Colorado in Boulder from the Applied Math Department. Understanding of differential equations is also a core requirement for many of the physics courses which I took while pursuing my Bachelor in Physics at CU Boulder (Quantum Mechanics I & II, Classical Mechanics I & II, Electromagnetism I & II). I therefore not only have experience just in the class itself, but in the application of differential equations to solving real problems.

C++

I currently work programming in c and c++ at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. I've also taken both programming I and Data Structures at CU Boulder. Most of my knowledge is in object oriented programming. Programs that I've written are available on the National Geophysical Data Center Website, in the World Magnetic Model Group.

Linear Algebra

I took two linear algebra courses while at CU Boulder pursuing my BS in physics from the applied math department. I have also taken matrix methods which looks more deeply into Linear Algebra concepts. In addition to this I have tutored students in Numerical Analysis which has roots in Linear Algebra.
