Hi, my name is Annie! I am a 29-year-old professional tutor and experienced classroom teacher. I have a BA in Biology from Pomona College in Claremont, CA (graduating cum laude with a 3.8 GPA) and a Masters of Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. I have been teaching and tutoring middle, high school, and college students for 6 years, and have been a full-time professional tutor for the last year-and-a-half.
My teaching experience ranges from teaching environmental education to groups of middle school students in the Pacific Northwest, to teaching marine biology on Catalina Island and in the Caribbean, to teaching ecology (in both English and Spanish) to high school students (and working with them on land tortoise research) in the Galapagos Islands. Furthermore I have thrived as a full-time classroom science teacher, occasionally teaching math and literature classes as well. Additionally, I have been trained as a SAT and GRE teacher by the Princeton Review and have had much success helping students prepare for and excel on these tests. Currently I tutor students for these tests as well as for biology, chemistry, algebra, geometry, trig, pre-calc, writing, and literature.
I am passionate about meeting students at their own level and working to help them engage with, understand, and excel at the subject at hand. I look forward to working with you!
